COMING IN 2025
“Fortissimo Victoria: Military Music Spectacle” is special event in British Columbia, conceived and produced by the Victoria Military Music Festival Society (VMMFS), presented as part of Victoria Day Weekend celebrations in the Provincial Capital. This traditional central event is a tightly woven 80 minute spectacle of music and movement blending a large assembly of military and civilian performers.
The objective for 2025 is to stage a special Victoria Day weekend celebration for the enjoyment of the residents of the province and visitors to BC. The proposed theme is an imaginatively conceived musical performance in support of Ukraine. In this event we will also recognize and reflect on the 80th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the 125th anniversary of the Lord Strathcona’s Horse.
The central event venue of Fortissimo will be the BC Legislature lawn. Additional band performances are expected to include a combination of Topaz Park (after the Victoria Highland Games) and consider also a range of Victoria area performance venues. Venue configuration will depend upon the requirements of the performers and audience considerations.
